What is the best age to photograph a newborn?

Newborns are best photographed between 7 and 10 days. This is due to your newborn being accustomed to being all curled up. To achieve the gorgeous curled up poses for typical newborn images, it is advisable to aim for this important window.

You are also welcome to come and meet with me in my studio and have a look at our prop selection for your shoot and discuss your wish list for your shoot. Please contact me to book an appointment.

We ask that all clients email or call within 24-48 hours of having your baby. Most babies are booked anywhere from 8-10 days depending on the baby’s weight. Letting us know when you have your baby early allows room for rescheduling and adjusting.

We photograph babies of any age. Your baby is no longer a newborn however you can still book a session. Please understand your baby most likely will not be able to do newborn poses or wraps and they are usually awake.

Newborn Sessions can take anywhere from 2 to 3 hours which gives enough time for feeding and settling your brand new baby. Your baby is never going to be this tiny again so this session cannot be rushed. Please allow enough time for your session.

Sitter Babies (6 to 10 months) 45 minutes to an hour. I allow for an hour and half for changing clothes and props.

1 year cake smash normally takes around an hour and half.

Please know there is no real “timer” on our sessions, the above is an estimate and sessions may take less or more time.

Yes we have tons! You really do not need to bring anything. You are welcome to make an appointment and come and have a look at the many props we have ahead of your shoot.

This is such a fun age to photograph a baby which is 6 to 9 months. It is important that your baby can sit unaided but not yet crawling. 6 to 8 months are mainly sitters and 9 to 12 month are mainly crawlers. This is only a guide as every baby is different. No doubt these sessions are full of giggles and happy moments well worth capturing.
